Communication between the College and home plays an important role in the ongoing education of our students. We encourage our parents and teachers to keep in contact regularly to ensure the students progress is monitored and essential support is provided.
The College uses a variety of methods to communicate important information to both parents and students.
The Ashdale Download newsletter is issued by email twice per term and is also available on the website. The Download contains information about educational activities and events, student and staff achievements, excursions, visitors to the College, P&C updates and other relevant College information.
Students receive updates through the Daily Upload notices distributed in Mentor Group. These notices contain information about upcoming events, sporting activities and training, excursion information, student meetings, lunchtime activities and Student Service information.
Parent Information Evenings
At various times throughout the year, the College conducts Parent Information evenings and Parent/Teacher Meeting evenings. These times may be used to convey important information such as Specialist Programs, Course Selections, Senior School or to discuss student progress.
At times, the College may send SMS messages to parents to convey vital information or reminders. The SMS system is also utilised to advise parents of unexplained Lates and Absences from the College.
The Connect Portal website is a great way for students and parents/guardians to access course information, homework links, valuable curriculum resources and important notices from their student’s teachers. Senior School parents/guardians will also be able to track their students progress through the publishing of assessment marks.
For parents/guardians to access the Connect Portal, the Department of Education requires a consent form to be filled out and returned to the College for registration. Once registration is complete, parents/guardians will be issued a login and password to access the portal. The form can be returned to the College front office, emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to 9302 7188. Please click here for access to the Consent Form.

Reporting to Parents
In July and December, progress reports are issued for each student. Year 10 students are also issued an interim report in Term 1 to assist with their Senior School subject selections.
