Students may choose to continue to focus on the development of their healthy, active lifestyle in Senior School.  There are VET/TAFE and University pathway options for students through Physical Education Studies and Certfiicate II in Sport and Recreation.

VET/TAFE Pathway

Physical Education Studies Stage 1

Stage 1 units have a large focus on the development of all physical components of competitive sports and the associated theoretical principles that will enable them to pursue personal interests and potential in physical activity as athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and/or volunteers.

Certificate II in Sport and Recreation

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to work in entry-level positions within the sport and recreation industry. You will learn how to communicate in the workplace, organise and complete daily work activities, participate in environmental work practices and provide first aid.  Successful completion of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to become a sports administration assistant or retail assistant.

University Pathway

Physical Education Studies Stage 2 and 3

Physical Education Studies contributes to the development of student’s physical, social and emotional growth. Students learn about physiological, psychological, and biomechanical principles and apply these to analyse and improve personal and group performances in physical activities. Throughout the course, students learn through integrated written, oral and active learning experiences. The course also provides students with opportunities to develop high level skills and knowledge and understandings that will enable them to pursue personal interests and potential in physical activity at a tertiary level.
