In the Science Learning Area, the students are provided opportunities to develop the knowledge skills and values that underpin scientific understandings within Australian society and within our daily lives.  The Science curriculum at Ashdale Secondary College enables students to make informed and responsible decisions as to how Science is used in society and the impact that scientific discoveries and technologies impact on the biological and ecological networks on Earth.

All students will have a course for the year that will encompass the five Science Learning Area Outcomes:

Students will work both independently and within cooperative learning groups to complete in Science class tasks and investigations using frameworks such as Multiple Intelligences and Blooms Taxonomy.

Students in Year 9 Science will be completing the WAMSE tests (Western Australian Monitoring Standards in Education) during Term 3.  A program that will be drawn up to assist the students in preparation for these tests.

In Semester Two Year 10 students wishing to take Year 11 ATAR Pathway Sciences will take Introductory Chemistry, Introductory Physics and/or Biological Field Techniques in preparation for Year 11 classes.
