Overview of ICT Specialist Program
The Department of Education WA endorsed Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Specialist program at Ashdale SC gives students access to the latest technology, methods, content delivery and opportunities to explore this exciting, fast paced industry. This course delivers enriched Digital Technologies curriculum, introducing students to various areas of ICT such as graphic design, photo media, coding, lego robotics, circuitry, entrepreneurial skills, STEM, project management, video game design and the latest innovations in the technology industry. Through the ICT Specialist Program students have access to competitions, excursions, guest speakers, industry partnerships and latest technologies.
Interested students must complete the ICT Specialist Program Expression of Interest form along with a General Enrolment Expression of Interest form. All students who submit an application will be invited to attend an informal interview. Students are required to bring along a project, portfolio, or photo journal of past work to the sharing session. This can be something they have worked on as an individual or as part of a group at primary school.

Innovation, Imagination and Creativity
The ICT Specialist Program offers students an opportunity to engage in a specially designed curriculum that works to the 21st century learner, fostering creativity and adventure in the learning experience.
The successful applicants to the College’s ICT Specialist Program enjoy fast paced and enriched studies of Digital Technology and are provided with the latest equipment and contemporary resources. The ICT Specialist Program requires a three year commitment (Years 7 to 9) to fully develop the students as self-directed learners with exceptional higher order thinking.
The program is offered in a learning environment that is technology smart and rich. Parents are required to supply a laptop and Adobe Creative Cloud Software for students in this program. See the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Specifications sheet for minimum requirements.
Many students have chosen a pathway in Senior School and beyond that involves IT in areas such as Graphic and Web Design, Networking, Video Game Design, Computer Science, and Cyber Security. We also have many students selecting STEM career pathways such as Life Sciences, Accounting, Civil engineering, Psychology, Statistics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Programming.
